A modern method of producing sparkling wine using solar and micro-filtration systems was the prerequisite for a new generation of sparkling wine on the market that is also suitable for vegans.
 
TRADITION
The love of Italian culture of enjoyment, combined with a tradition unknown in large parts of Germany of a wild vine family that grew and was described over 2000 years ago on the Po Valley on the edge of Emilia Romagna, is today producing something new: THE first BLACK SPARKLING WINE
WHO IS BEHIND THE CRAFT
Frank Basta - Born in 1969 as the child of first-generation Italian immigrants, Italian culture and enjoyment were instilled in me from birth. 

Even as a child, I spent a lot of time in my parents' Italian delicatessen. 

The focus of my qualifications has been primarily in the food & beverage sector of upscale gastronomy, hotels and retail for over 30 years.
 
In 2010 I got to know the Emilia Romagna wine cooperative and the culture of these deep dark grapes of the region. 

I was delighted by the almost black wine, lightly sparkling and fruity-fresh from a millennia-old, natural vine family.
 
The question of whether it would be possible to make a black, dry sparkling wine from it subsequently occupied my mind.
 
From the idea to the first bottling in 2014, three years passed during which the complete network between oenologists and winemaking families was established.
 
Since June 2018, DER SCHWARZE SEKT has been approved as a quality sparkling wine, the first of its kind - a premium sparkling wine of the highest quality.
