Each bowl is unique in size and shape. Also, the colour varies depending on the wood available within the nomad settlements. INFORMATION • Wood from Acacia tree, red cotton. • Every Raute bowl is thoroughly cleaned and treated with linseed oil.  • Medium bowl size varies between: 33 - 36cm diameter x 12 - 13cm height. • Safe to serve food. • Not to wash in the dishwasher. • Cleaning it with a dry cloth or using a damp cloth with natural soap to remove stains. The ' Raute ' are the last remaining indigenous nomads of Nepal. There are about only 156 Rautes still carrying on their nomadic lifestyle in the remote mountains of western Nepal. They call themselves the 'Kings of Forests' and eat langur and macaque monkeys, wild yam and forest fruits. Constantly on the move, the Rautes live within the forested mountains in temporary camps hidden from habitation. These nomads carve wooden bowls out of tree trunks and trade them for necessities such as clothes and grains.
