At Omie, we support the production of organic French tomatoes grown in open fields. We obtain our supplies directly from a group of 50 farmers in Provence. Part of the production can also come from another group of around ten farmers in the South West, depending on the quantities harvested. This is not trivial when we know that a large part of the tomatoes present in market sauces and jars are imported from Italy or even China, which is the second largest producer in the world. •Sourcing work on French carrots and beets. Carrots are grown by farmers in the North and in the Loire, the sector is labeled Biofair in France, which implies fair commercial relations & agricultural practices in favor of soil health (soil cover, reduction of plowing, cultural associations, agroforestry, etc.).
