Macdonald Willowwood Pendant

The first time I visited Kelvingrove Museum in Glasgow I was transfixed by a series of painted hessian Gesso panels by Margaret Macdonald, wife of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The title of the panel is taken from a sonnet by Dante Gabriel Rossetti and was commissioned by Miss Kate Cranston for the Salon de Luxe, Willow Tea Rooms which also provided an inspiration for another design of mine.
