FORSKOLIN COLEUS

Coleus forskohlii or Forskolin Coleus, is a tropical perennial plant from the Lamiaceae family.   Originally from Northern India, this plant is found in the regions of Southeast Asia, precisely in Thailand, Nepal, India, Pakistan and even Sri Lanka (sentence just out of place).   It has been used in Ayurvedic medicine (Ayurveda) for many centuries.    Forskolin, or Coleonol, is a highly sought-after active ingredient, which is extracted from the roots of the plant.   Identified in 1974 as a diterpene (a type of fuel produced naturally by certain plants), Forskolin has many properties commonly used today, particularly in the form of a food supplement.   Indeed, forskolin is an excellent fat burner.   To do this, it activates adenylate cyclase, which directly plays a role in the use of adipocytes and in thermogenesis, to provide energy to the body.   By increasing thermogenesis, forskolin will increase heat production and lipolysis, or the melting of fat.   It is a slimming asset used in slimming diets, but it is also well known to athletes for body weight management.    Vitamin A is the first vitamin to have been scientifically discovered, hence the fact that its name is the first letter of the alphabet.   It is also called retinol, in connection with its intervention in the functioning of the retina, an organ which covers the back of the eye and which is essential for vision.   It is in particular the retina which perceives light thanks to its photoreceptors.   The latter are rod-shaped cells, capable of transforming light signals into nerve signals, which can be transmitted to the brain.   For this, the photoreceptors are equipped with pigments, including rhodopsin.   This is where vitamin A comes in, being essential for the synthesis of this pigment.
