Sikelia was born from an idea by Salvo Scarpaci, Sicilian designer and owner of the brand.
«Designing and then realizing this project was a long process of research, study in the world of fragrances, in the world of Sicilian myths and legends and materials. I have given a specific name to the emotions that I want to arouse with our fragrances: the "motions of the soul", understood as the awakening of consciences towards a lost culture. The emotions are different based on the perfume you choose: we tell of passions for the sea, love for one's land but also the story of the Moor's heads, the envy and anger of Enceladus and the revenge of Zeus"
The Sikelia brand — which means Sicily in Greek — wants to tell the mythology and legends of Sicily through its perfumes.
The project, the formulation of the perfumes, the materials used are part of a careful selection of Sicilian artists and artisans.
The elements that make up Sikelia creations do not come from industrial production, they are mostly made by hand.
Every single perfume cap is produced manually by selected artisans from Caltagirone and enriched with a satin tassel. The logo and the case, although in different materials, are inspired by ceramics, celebrating the art of Sicilian majolica in a modern key.
All the details are the result of expert craftsmanship and make each Sikelia perfume a unique piece.
