The RayTemp® 2 incorporates an optical ratio of 5:1 (distance to target diameter ratio) and a fixed emissivity of 0.95, making it suitable for a wide range of food and industrial applications. The unit does not incorporate laser alignment, but this will appeal to those who are health and safety conscious and do not need this feature. The RayTemp® 2 has a three button keypad, incorporating measurement, mode and max/min functions, pressing the mode button allows the user to select °C/°F, display the ambient temperature and the emissivity value. The max/min function displays the highest and lowest recorded temperatures over the measurement period. The RayTemp® 2 features a large, easy-to-read LCD display with low battery and an auto power-off feature that turns the instrument off after 30 seconds, maximizing battery life. It is housed in a rugged ABS case that contains the Biomaster additive that reduces bacterial growth and is powered by three AAA batteries that provide a minimum of 350 hours of battery life.
