Our CHOLITA shawl is soft, warm and cosy from pure alpaca wool, lovingly handmade in Bolivia at 3.600 m above sea level. We call this collection CHOLITA and it is inspired by the bolivian cholitas (indigenous Aymara and Quechua women), whose blanquets (shawls) use the macrame technique to decorate the fringes. CHOLITA is a high-quality and noble piece and due to the simple, classic design, it becomes a timeless treasure that can be used as a warm shawl and enhace any outfit you are wearing. Our CHOLITA are handwoven on a handloom in a traditional way, so that each one is unique. Each piece means many hours of fairly paid work for our bolivian artisans. Our aim is to enable the families of our artisans to earn an independent living shawl by shawl.
