We are artisan producers of original drinks based on “Simples”, aromatic and medicinal plants, based in Chinon (France). We offer alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
-Our Simple Wines: Sweet aperitifs based on Loire Valley wines (16% alc). Each product in this range is the result of a gourmet, harmonious and unusual encounter between a local grape variety (Chenin, Cabernet franc and Côt) and an aromatic plant (Simple).
-Our Bulles de Simples: sparkling, alcohol-free sodas, naturally sweetened, made from organic apple juice from Touraine. A range of 4 original sodas flavored with hops, aromatic plants and spices.
-Our Simple Juices: Non-alcoholic drink combining fruit juice with an aromatic plant (Simple). Our range is made up of juices flavored by infusion of plants, without added sugars, without preservatives and without additives.
Who are we :
4C-Drinks is our family business located in Chinon, in Indre et Loire (37).
We were born in Normandy and, lulled by the culture of cider from our childhood between Pays d’Ouche and Calvados, we pursued agronomic studies. Nathalie completed her oenological knowledge by obtaining a certificate of specialization in cider production. Christophe's professional activity allowed him to acquire a good mastery of chemistry and fermentation processes.
The birth of our drinks is the fruit of our passions. We acquired our first skills by making our own beers, then our objective was to obtain a natural, light, festive, effervescent drink. We wanted it to be low in alcohol, flavored with plants, if possible produced locally, without any preservatives, in short, in accordance with our origins and our values.
Numerous tests in micro fermenters have been carried out, making it possible to experiment with different flavoring techniques and recipes based on aromatic and medicinal plants (Simple).
After two years of tests, tastings (thanks to all our friends and loved ones who sometimes suffered!),we were able to stabilize our recipes and our manufacturing processes.
Ethics :
We pay particular attention to the origin of the wines, fruits, plants and spices used in the manufacture of our drinks and we favor short circuit operation and local solidarity whenever possible.
We decided to create 4C-Drinks on our scale, giving it a family dimension, with the objectives of fully integrating it into its local territory and favoring local suppliers.
From the start of our project, we were keen to develop our production with a view to limiting food waste. In this context, we made the decision, for example, not to produce our apple juice to make our drinks. We met local organic producers, within a 50 km radius around Chinon, with excellent know-how, cultivating their orchards organically for many years. We decided to buy them second choice apples, our production allowing them to find a fair valuation.
