7000 Islands was born out of a deep desire to create something meaningful – for me and my community. After years in corporate sourcing, I was burned out, felt empty, and wanted something that would truly fulfill me.
In 2019 I moved to Berlin – in search of a slower, more conscious life. But as the world changed during the pandemic, I saw many people rediscover their own four walls and long for more authenticity. That's when I realized: I can offer something special – handmade treasures from the Philippines that focus on tradition, quality, and fairness.
Our collection revolves around abaca – a natural fiber known for its strength and sustainability. 90% of our products are made from this special fiber – each one is the result of our talented Filipino artisans. 7000 Islands is more than just decoration – it's about conscious consumption, traditions and supporting women-run businesses that keep this craft alive.
