Hair band San Antonio

Handwoven hair bands as a headband or headscarf These headbands are woven by Mayan women on the traditional handloom. This loom consists of 2 wooden sticks between which the warp threads are stretched: the upper bar is tied to a tree to stabilize the weaving. Then the wooden shuttle with the weaving threads is guided back and forth between the warp threads. This creates a cloth from which the hairband or scarves or shawls are then made. 100% cotton, with elastic band, universal size for teenagers and "smaller" heads - approx. hat sizes 57-59. Cotton stretches with use and will therefore grow approximately one hat size larger when worn for the first time. When washed, it contracts again - comparable to a pair of jeans. Attention, the black color of these towels is not colourfast. Unfortunately, our producers have not yet been able to get this problem under control. This means that the black stripes - if any - run into the other colors under the influence of moisture (i.e. rain or washing). We deliver the hairbands sorted by colour. From time to time you will find some uni-colored ones. If you only want these, please expect longer delivery times or please pre-order for your season. Production including transport takes about 2 months. Fair trade with Guatemala. There is now health insurance based on the German model, which increases the price of some items. But of course :-)
