While the San Isidro de Periana oil cooperative was founded in 1982, it originated from the merger of 18 old mills that existed in the 1960s. At that time, three unionized cooperatives were created: Mondrón, San Isidro, and Nuestra Señora del Pilar. The history of our beloved San Isidro cooperative, whose facade features a forked roof dedicated to the patron saint, begins precisely with the merger of the latter two.
Our brand – Aceite Verdial de Periana – highlights the typical characteristics of our Verdial olive variety within the unique climate of the Periana region, the capital of Alta Axarquía, located 23 km north of Vélez-Málaga.
This brand is the pride of more than 800 families who care for and pamper more than 300.000 century-old olive trees that, together with the selection of their fruits and the production process, produce one of the best virgin olive oils in the province of Malaga.
