Edinburgh is the picturesque capital of Scotland, affectionately known as Auld Reekie. Illustrated from the point of view of Calton Hill overlooking the city centre, this 12x12 inch print is made of 310gsm hahnemuhle german etching uncoated paper giving it a wonderfully textured feel to match the pastel strokes of the drawing. It’s simple to watch a sunset over Edinburgh. One of my favourite things about the place is the seven hills around it, making it easy to get an incredible view of the city - and especially so at sunset. With light bouncing off walls and shining back from windows, it looks like a city on fire. Having lived in Edinburgh for over 8 years, including my formative student years, it has a very special place in my heart, which is why it was a no brainer to make it the first in a series of city illustrated prints.
