Aparté is a small puzzle publishing house created in 2022 and located near La Rochelle. Maxime Vachon, its creator, rediscovered this activity in 2021, reading a press article on the great comeback of the puzzle caused by the various confinements in 2020.
At first, this article simply made him want to get back to the puzzle. An activity he had not practiced since his childhood. However, when looking for puzzles for adults, he found that the visuals had changed little. After a few puzzles chosen by default, he decided to contact artists in order to be able to offer modern visuals that everyone will be proud to show, and even to frame if they wish.
A first collection of 3 1000-piece puzzles was launched at the end of 2022 with illustrations by 3 different artists. The puzzles are made in France in limited editions. All production is part of an eco-responsible approach with the use of recycled paper and cardboard or from sustainably managed forests, a minimum size of the boxes for a reasoned consumption of raw materials and a reduced impact during transport. Regarding the printing, the inks are 100% vegetable and the varnishes are water-based. Small decisions throughout the manufacturing process in order to limit its environmental impact as much as possible.
Aparté has also joined the 1% for the Planet movement and undertakes to donate 1% of its minimum turnover to environmental associations.
