Chuao cocoa is considered by many to be the best cocoa in the world, born exclusively around village of Chuao near the Henry Pittier National Park in the Aragua state of Venezuela. This cocoa is considered a Modern Criollo, which is characterized by a high genetic purity criollo free of bitterness and a characteristic touch of acidity that makes the chocolate fresh, fruity and with extraordinary persistence. This dark chocolate has a complex and persistent taste, where notes of currants, strawberries, blueberries, plums, mango and liquorice. In 2021, Chuao Cocoa became the first cocoa in the world to receive a Designation of certified origin, D.O.C.C. Official name Cacao de Chuao
