Nantes / The Titan Crane

Titan is the name of a model of cranes produced by the Joseph Paris company, based in Nantes. The name evokes the lifting power of such devices. Located on Quai Wilson, at the western end of the Ile de Nantes, it was mainly used for parcel unloading operations until 2003. Intended to be scrapped, the gray crane was bought by the City of Nantes from the Autonomous Port in April 2005 and is classified as a historical monument.
