Poster reproduction of a map of the Moon engraved by John Russel in 1840, published by James Wyld in London. The handwritten caption at the bottom of the poster reads: This plate offers an exact view of the Lunar Disk in opposition to the Sun. When, by the absence of shadow, elevations and depressions appear indeterminate, and all complicated appearances due either to local colour or to causes hitherto inexplicable are developed and perfectly represented.
