Poster: The Planets

Reissue of The Planets, one of the educational charts published by James Reynolds & Sons, showing a diagram drawn and engraved by John Emslie in 1860. The astronomical diagram shows the relative sizes of the planets and their distance from the Sun. The telescopic aspect of Jupiter, Saturn and Mars is also illustrated in color. The top set of diagrams shows how the planets Venus and Mercury exhibit phases like our Moon, as well as the changing appearance of Saturn's rings.
