Atelier Baltazar was born in 2022, following long nights of discussions between Samy Abdennebi and Baltazar, his imaginary friend. When Samy was a lawyer, Baltazar was just a nocturnal alter ego, a creative and sleepwalking avatar.
Today, Samy and Baltazar take responsibility for all their inspirations, whether they come from the shape of a piece of wood or a memory, from their roots, from both sides of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, or from hip-hop and street-art cultures. Together, using sustainably managed French wood, they create refined and authentic wooden objects and furniture, useful and decorative, which we become attached to and which we enjoy using.
Baltazar and Samy offer a poetic and lasting definition of materialism: that of a way of living with objects that we care about and that we enjoy using. Objects that have meaning and to which we give a little more each day. Objects that end up speaking to us as much as they tell us stories.
