Located on the foothills of the Chartreuse massif in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Atelier des Vernes perpetuates the art of woodworking by creating high-quality solid wood toys, both aesthetic and durable, which encourage imagination and development of children while respecting the environment.
Founded by a enthusiast of woodworking, Atelier des Vernes takes its name from the designer's surname, verne being the traditional name of a tree more commonly known today as alder. Since its creation, the workshop has been committed to using local and ecological materials, favoring wood from sustainably managed French forests, purchased from local sawmills.
The philosophy of Atelier des Vernes is based on three main pillars:
