On Thursday, November 14, 2019, I set foot on Snow Hill Island, off the Antarctic Peninsula... I had an appointment with one of the 44 colonies of Emperor Penguins. I had an extraordinary experience there: ten days on a boat, zodiac excursions in the middle of icebergs and landings on icy lands, to discover Antarctica and its extraordinary residents. I had to face the difficulties and uncertainties of the most hostile continent on the planet... doubts and fears, but also hope and happiness.
On my return, I wanted to tell what I had seen there. An unknown and uninhabited land, so mystical and so mysterious in the eyes of the majority of us... A land which suffers from our errors and the defects of our way of life... but also a land which gives hope for the future of our planet! I decided to share my adventure with you in this book, both testimony and logbook. You will find there day after day my discoveries, my analyses, my questions and above all my incredible encounters.
