Gainsbourg

Serge Gainsbourg, whose real name is Lucien Ginsburg, has had a long, atypical and varied career. A prolific songwriter, working his texts, their form and their rhymes with a lot of poetry and originality, his notoriety is immense in France and he is one of the very few singers in the French language who have had success in Anglo-Saxon countries. at the time! This album thus tells the life of Gainsbourg, son of Russian emigrants born in Paris, since his youth when he had to wear the yellow star during the war and hide under a false identity, his apprenticeship of the piano with his father, his studies in the fine arts while becoming a bar pianist and the revelation he had when he saw Boris Vian perform. His meeting with Brigitte Bardot then Jane Birkin, his varied musical periods, from jazz to rap and reggae via pop and film music, the songs he composed for himself and for others are also of course mentioned. Thanks Sergi! Text: Pierre Crooks, Illustrations: Fred Le Falher, 32 pages.
