BANDAI NAMCO, a leading Japanese group in the world of entertainment products and services, is the world's No. 3 toy manufacturer and No. 1 in Japan. In France, BANDAI has been making children dream since 1981 by combining creativity and emotion, cult characters and innovations: Dragon Ball, Pokémon, Miraculous, Ben 10, Knights of the Zodiac, Harumika, Badge It and of course Tamagotchi… These are 1000 wonderful worlds of action and fantasy that open up for each generation of children… and it's not about to stop!
History
Founded in 1950 in Japan by Naoharu Yamashina, BANDAI quickly established itself as a benchmark for quality. The success of its first products (model cars) went beyond Japanese borders in the early years.
From 1963, BANDAI launched an assault on the world by opening its first offices in the United States, and at the same time developed its first range of toys based on television heroes: Astroboy. The legend was built in the 70s, thanks in particular to the first robot figurines, the appearance of vending capsules and the development of the first electronic toys.
The 1980s were marked by the establishment of subsidiaries in Europe, notably in France in 1981 with BANDAI SA. The company's business continued to grow, and the group enjoyed a string of successes: Saint Seiya (1987), Sailor Moon (1993), Power Rangers (1993), Tamagotchi (1996), Hyper Yo-Yo (1997), Badge It (2002), Tamagotchi Connexion (2004), and more.
In 2005, the company took on a new dimension by merging with NAMCO Ltd. to become the BANDAI NAMCO group, making it one of the world's largest toy and video game manufacturers and distributors.
Today, the BANDAI NAMCO Group develops entertainment services and products worldwide. Its areas of activity are particularly vast, ranging from toys and vending figurines to video games, including anime and network services.
