After leaving their parents and starting school in Grangeville, Ernest, 11, and Colette, 6, managed to make friends, and they even started a club, the Robinsons! But when Dieppe is bombed, the gang is separated: Ernest and Colette try to flee with their grandparents. Very quickly, they find themselves separated from Papilou and Mamili. Returning to Grangeville with Jean-Baptiste, the postman, and their friend Jean and his mother, they witness the arrival of the Germans. Soon, they are forced to move in with the Morteaus. For Ernest, there is no question of sharing the house of his worst enemies! So he decides to hide in the Robinsons' lair, and asks Colette to keep it a secret...
