La Brasserie du Sorcier is the story of an encounter between a master brewer and an old lady known as “the Witch of Moussey”.
The know-how, passion and creativity of Marc Arbogast, renowned master brewer and former CEO of Brasseries Fischer and Adelshoffen in Schiltigheim in Alsace, led him to invent many specialty beers, one of they being the Sorcerer's Beer.
He knew an old lady, Fifine, who lived in rue du Diable in the principality of Salm. The inhabitants called her "the Witch of Moussey" because she used various plants from the Vosges to concoct potions with therapeutic virtues for men and animals.
Fascinated by his potions, our master brewer was inspired by these recipes to create the “Bière de Salm”. A first ephemeral brew was produced and met with such success that Bière de Salm, renamed “Bière du Sorcier”, was launched on April 21, 2008 in a small village in the Vosges.
Subsequently, other traditions from distant lands inspired our Sorcerer to offer you other atypical beers, Bokono and Malaka.
