Biobaula GmbH is a company based in Bruckmühl (Rosenheim). They have set themselves the task of reducing plastic waste from cleaning agents with the motto "Together for a better world". This idea came to Mr. Markus Winkler in February 2016 during a family vacation in Thailand. On a walk on the beach, he found an empty plastic spray bottle that still worked perfectly. Since Mr. Winkler has been running his own health food store for a number of years, he couldn't find an alternative to cleaning agents that wasn't packaged in plastic. This is how the idea for the cleaning tabs came about.
In April 2018, Mr. Winkler founded the company Biobaula GmbH in Bruckmühl. Four other employees actively support him in all matters. They recently relocated their production site from Barcelona to Bruckmühl.
The tabs are based on salts and citric acid. These can be dissolved in water and then used like conventional cleaning agents. Biobaula is completely degradable within 28 days.
The name Biobaula comes from a species of turtle which is threatened with extinction and is called Baula.
