The Maison Marie adventure began in 1946 when the grandparents, Maurice and Hélène, arrived in Quettehou to reopen a bakery that had closed during the war. Maurice
comes from Calvados by bike to visit the store. Conquered by the place and his legs in compote,
he opened the bakery-patisserie au sablé normand with the mission of concocting delicious
shortbreads using the best ingredients that the region has to offer. His son Michel took over the torch in 1976 and developed a range of fine chocolates, unique in the region, as well as a fine pastry. In 2005, after having been immersed in the world of pastries and chocolate making
all his childhood, it was Patrice, the grandson, who continued the family adventure with his wife
Anne-Lise. He puts the emphasis back on biscuits and in particular shortbread thanks to the unique recipes of his grandfather Maurice and develops a range of savory shortbreads, using spent grain from brewing cereals from the neighboring brewery, favoring the short circuit.
