The KCRS cooperative brings together a multitude of small family farms managed by women and located in northern Rwanda. The project, led by Kinini Coffee, is an offshoot of A New Beginning, a charity created in 2008 and aimed at helping orphans and displaced persons from the 1994 genocide, resettled in a region of savannah devoid of any agriculture. The farms, initially dedicated to food self-sufficiency, now produce quality coffee to diversify the income of local populations.
