The Tales - Perrault

Written in 1697 by Charles Perrault, general controller of the king's buildings, these Tales of My Mother Goose or Stories and Tales of Past Times are an incredible compilation of ancestral texts transmitted orally between adults during vigils in the countryside. Perrault saves them from oblivion by adapting them in lively written language, however watering down certain passages that could offend the sensibilities of the youngest. We know them by heart. They shaped us, they nourished our childhood (and adult!) dreams and nightmares. We no longer present Les Contes de Perrault.
