Created in the 1950s by a Belgian entrepreneur, Mr Georges CHARLIER, the Brabo company's primary activity was the sale of candy and gadget dispensers.

Brabo is growing rapidly and the activity is diversifying into several branches: the importation and distribution of confectionery, food products (Uncle Bens rice, Suzi Wan ready meals, Dôle canned pineapple, etc.),and professional coffee machines (Cimbali).

After the death of its founder in 1989, the distribution group was first bought by its managers, then the company STARSWEETS, specialized in the importation and distribution of sweet products in the Benelux, acquired the confectionery branch in 1997, which became BRABO France.

Short story :

He decided to name his company BRABO in homage to the Flemish mythological legend in which a young Roman soldier named Silvius Brabo saved the city of Antwerp by killing the giant Druon Antigone. According to legend, Antigone taxed boats crossing the Scheldt and cut off the hands of those who did not deign to pay. Silvius Brabo put an end to this unpleasant situation, he defeated the giant and cut off his hand which he threw into the Scheldt.
