With brotstoff we want to reconcile responsibility, sustainability and awareness of grain products along the entire value chain. In our family-run grain mill, we attach great importance to the selection of suitable raw materials, most of which we source from the surrounding area. In this way we can ensure fair and responsible cultivation.
In addition, we save CO2 through short delivery routes and packaging material, since the grain can be stored loosely in our silos and cells. We cannot obtain all raw materials from the immediate vicinity and store them loose. Nevertheless, we pay attention to the origin of the products. Everything that needs to be packed, we buy in paper bags as much as possible. In this way, we reduce the contact of our food with plastic and the resulting plastic waste to a minimum.
The constant optimization of our value chain and the strengthening of a sustainable circular economy are important to us. When it comes to sustainability, product packaging plays a major role for us. "Bread from the jar" is packaged in jars that serve as a baking pan for the bread. They can be used again. The refill packs consist of biodegradable packaging. We recommend washing the glasses by hand. Our artisan breads are packed in kraft paper bags with paper labels and sealed with rayon staple. The packaging is plastic-free and recyclable.
