Between Tuscany and Umbria is Anghiari, a medieval village surrounded by greenery and included in the list of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The Busatti textile company has been based there since 1795, in Palazzo Morgalanti, with offices, machinery and archives.
Busatti is part of the Union of Historic Italian Companies, companies that have an ultra-centennial past behind them.
And its history goes even further back in time.
It all starts with a bread oven. The Busatti family, who arrived in Anghiari in the second half of the eighteenth century, opened a bakery which was quickly transformed into an emporium for the sale of various kinds.
Around 1830, Mario Busatti decides to buy the first wooden looms and thus starts the production and sale of local woolen cloths, blankets and clothes. It is a winning idea.
Today, just as then, in the Anghiari company, rustic wool from the Apennines, Upper Umbria and Casentino is processed. The family calls it anti-cashmere, a non-soft and ultra-resistant fabric, ideal for tailored jackets designed to last over time.
But tailored jackets are only a small part of the company's production.

From shuttle looms come fabrics that are used to create tablecloths and napkins, table centerpieces, sheets and bedspreads, upholstery for sofas and armchairs. Expert hands finish and embellish these products with gigliucci, hemstitches, embroidery and lace. The exclusive and high-end customization is one of the flagships of the brand.
Each production phase takes place in Italy: from dyeing, to spinning, to weaving. It is 100% Made in Italy. The Busatti family, now in its eighth generation, keeps alive the passion for tradition, its origins, good taste and quality.
