The Amazonas region is located in the northeast of the country, it is crossed by the Andes and it is home to the most famous jungle in the world. Together with the department of San Martín, they bring together almost half of the Peruvian coffee production. Within the department of Amazonas, the province of Utcubamba is located, which is divided into seven districts, Lonya Grande being one of them. Coffee plantations are small in size, and harvesting is done by hand. Arabica coffee is produced almost exclusively in Peru, with the Typica and Caturra varieties being the most abundant. The excellent climatic conditions and the characteristics of the soil make high-quality organic agriculture possible. The term "MCM Grade 1" refers to the classification of coffee, designating the highest quality. MCM means "Machine Cleaned Improved", this term is used only in Peru and highlights the mechanical work in the classification of grains. This coffee has the certification of Organic Coffee in origin.
