Marco was brewing coffee in independent coffee shops when he noticed the problem. The coffee was exceptional, the cake was not. Too expensive, too chain-like, and too forgettable. So he teamed up with Lize, a chef with Michelin-starred credentials and a genuine obsession with baking, and they set about fixing it.
From a shared kitchen in Battersea, they built something worth talking about. Word spread fast, Cake Club grew and brought in a bakery partner to meet demand, which kept Lize free to do what she does best.
