Oregano in Hand Made Terracotta Pot

This pretty hand made terracotta herb pot contains aromatic dried Calabrian oregano. Dried oregano has a potent aroma and flavour and is used all over Italy (but particularly in the south) in many different recipes. The dish most associated with oregano is of course pizza, with the Pizza Marinara topped simply with tomato, garlic, oil and oregano. It works well with many tomato dishes and is often added to a caprese salad or sprinkled on a bruschetta drizzled with extra virgin olive oil.
