CECINAS NIETO is a family business founded in 1965 by José Nieto Blas, the son of an arriera family from the maragatería (a region located in the west of León), where he learned the artisan techniques necessary to make Cecina de León.
In this way, the foundations of a future project were established whose common thread was always the achievement of a QUALITY product elaborated with the greatest care and the best know-how of the years.
In 2019, Cecinas Nieto has met a new goal: to open the first 100% HALAL beef factory. This means that we only produce Cecina de León IGP in two different lines: HALAL and NO HALAL, increasing the current production in both lines.
It is therefore the opening of a new cutting-edge plant fully adapted to the current needs of the meat industry, as well as the new approvals for export to third countries. For this reason, we wanted to obtain the IFS food safety certification trying to achieve the highest level of food safety and hygiene.
100% of our production is IGP Cecina de León and therefore, we guarantee quality, curing and minimum weights
