Moon Phase Necklace (2cm x 10cm) - Handmade in France This scientifically accurate necklace depicts the phases of the moon: new moon, waxing crescent, first quarter, gibbous moon, and full moon.’ The minimalist design and use of negative space mean that the color of your clothes will be visible through the moon-shaped holes, so the necklace will look different every time you wear it.’ Each necklace began its life on my computer. I digitally drew the phases of the moon, then translated the patterns into files readable by my laser cutter. This machine is the priority of my solar-powered studio, and I've spent years hacking and tweaking it to perfection. I laser-cut, assembled and polished the brooch before attaching it to a silver-plated metal chain with a lobster clasp.
