In 2016 the Charles Butler brand was re-launched with new packaging by Maxons. The brand was the original part of the company dating back to 1848 but the brand had died away in the 1960s. After finding original price lists, recipes and marketing information including letters in the family archives the brand was brought back to life in 2016.
The 6 original hard boiled sweet flavours used became popular with the high end deli and farm shop market and the luxury hamper market soon followed. In 2017 the 2 flavours of toffee were added and chocolate honeycomb was added in 2019. The brand is growing and grew well even through the tough trading of 2020, where we postponed a product launch.
2021 sees the brand branch further out from its traditional footprint of boiled sweets but using the original product lists of Charles Butler’s Sheffield stores to inspire and teach what can be sold. These additions include 3 flavours of Rum and some more great old fashioned favourites.
The brand keeps to Charles Butler’s ideals of only ever sourcing the finest of ingredients to make products of the upmost quality.
