Arauca is one of the 32 Colombian administrative regions, whose territory extends along the border with Venezuela. The Arauca region has been hit hard by the Colombian armed conflict and has been militarily occupied for decades by two guerrilla groups FARC and ELN. With the peace process, tension is decreasing and alternatives are being sought to the production of coca leaves, first of all cocoa. In Arauca there are many families who have depended solely on cocoa for over three generations. Among them, Elisabeth Agudelo, who experienced the Colombian conflict first-hand, created a cocoa production model focusing on a high quality product. Elisabeth knows cocoa in all its aspects and her mission is to offer a unique cocoa: a real leader who works and directs her efforts to guarantee the rebirth of her land. The cocoa beans we have selected are characterized by their sweetness and hints of pleasant fruity acidity, with hints of honey and flowers.
