When new leaves grow on the tea plant in the spring, they contain the most minerals, vitamins and flavour. When a tea carries the addition FOP (Flowery Orange Pekoe) this means that only the top 2-3 leaves of the tea plant have been used. These are the youngest leaves whose unopened leaves turn golden when processed. The leaves are of almost the same size and fairly large. Together with the golden buds they give a beautiful gold-black tea, in which you will find the flavors of cane sugar, toast and cocoa.
