Today, the story of a Claude Dozorme knife is inseparable from the choice of steel. Remarkable cut, easy sharpening, hardness of the blade… So many qualities inherent in cutlery steel. Whether stainless or Damascus, the steel used is rigorously selected to fully comply with the quality requirements of the brand. Every year, nearly 10 tonnes of steel from major French, German or Swedish steelworks are transformed in this way.
The first step in the making of a Claude Dozorme piece takes place in front of a computer screen. The blade is first designed by computer to allow greater precision in manufacturing, as well as greater creativity in shapes and details. The laser then comes into action: a numerically controlled machine cuts the blade of the knife with a precision of the order of one-tenth of a millimeter. The Claude Dozorme company is also one of the first in France to have used this truly cutting-edge technology.
