Origin: Namibia Volumes and net weights: 50ml / 80g Description: On the edge of the oldest desert in the world, the Namib, our salt is produced from deep water in the Antarctic region, under the African sun. Under the continuous winds of the South-West, the sun and the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, a very rare natural form is formed, in the shape of a pearl. Where the Namib ends and the Atlantic begins, our pearl salt is produced. The Namib includes the entire Namib coast (1600 km) and is the only desert in the world that is completely under nature reserve. The Namib owes its special characteristics to the icy Antarctic currents on the one hand and the heat of the African continent on the other. There are cold winds from the South Atlantic and fog more than 200 days/year, but almost no rain… These strong fogs give the Northern Namib its mystical name – the “skeleton coast”. Hundreds of ships met their end there over the centuries - most of them forgotten, some of them remain wrecks today. It is here, between the dunes and the sea, that our salt is made. The salt marshes are located in nature reserves and are a true paradise for bird and nature lovers. Due to their solid structure, the larger beads are ideal for salt and herb mills; a good alternative to the usual medium sea salt or as bath salt beads.
