Leonardian bow catapult

The original drawing is found on folio 140r of the Codex Atlanticus, at the Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana in Milan. There are many catapults, ballistae and trebuchets designed by Leonardo. In this case the force supplied by two arch-shaped crossbows is transferred to the launching arm with ropes, through a rotating drum. The machine could be loaded quickly thanks to a toothed wheel, held by the mechanism which was triggered with the help of a heavy sledgehammer. It is a detailed drawing full of details that made it easy to reconstruct, with the characteristics designed by Leonardo da Vinci. The model is functional and uses the same devices designed by Leonardo, allowing you to throw a small object at a short distance, by pressing on the trigger mechanism. Made entirely of natural wood, without paints or surface treatments, it will allow you to color or refine it according to your personal tastes. The instructions contained inside will guide you, step by step, to assemble it easily and without errors. Dimensions 38.5 x 21.5 x 8 190g N. Components 36
