Also known as Piri Piri or Pili Pili, this spicy chili offers a fruity aroma reminiscent of exotic fruits. Small amounts are enough to flavor different dishes. With a high level of spiciness, it is used in the flavoring of oils for pizzas and salads, in the preparation of hot sauces and in meat and fish recipes. One of the most common mistakes made with this type of chili is to split them in two and only use half to reduce their spiciness. It is a mistake, since once the seeds are cut they come into contact with the cooking and the spiciness level increases a lot. The Ojos de Pájaro chili owes its name to the fact that it is highly appreciated by birds, who collaborate in the dissemination of its seeds.
