When founder Catherine Bedford couldn't find a bicycle helmet that went with her everyday city outfits, she founded Dashel. Since 2017, the company has been producing helmets that, with their simple, classic design, are perfect for urban cycling. Dashel means thistle in Cornish and the first factory we worked with is in Cornwall. The Thistle is one of its native flowers and as it is colourful and protective, we decided to take it as our brand name.
Safe, slim and lightweight, our helmets have 5 air vents and come fitted with either an integrated dial fit system, or pads, to enable a tailored fit. Perfect for cycling or scooting, the range has a cap-like peak that allows you to keep your eye on the road and protects from rain or shine.
At Dashel, we always consider the complete life cycle of the helmet-we manufacture all our helmets in the UK and strive to ensure that each component is as durable as possible and later recyclable.
Our commitment to sustainability and reducing waste continues right through to delivery. All our helmets are shipped in a recyclable cardboard box and carefully packaged in a reusable drawstring bag-excellent for carrying your helmet when off your bike or scooter.Our urban helmets are made from recyclable materials and like most helmets, should be replaced every three to five years. Dashel has partners that can recycle helmets at end of life, as product design and manufacture needs to be circular not linear
