Sangiovese Superiore di Romagna DOC | Petali di Viola

Sangiovese is undoubtedly the most important grape variety in Italy, first mentioned in the 16th century. For a long time it was unclear whether this grape variety came from Tuscany or Emilia-Romagna. The Sangiovese achieved world fame with the "Chianti Classico". The unique "Sangiovese di Romagna" grows not far from Tuscany, a grape variety that can certainly be compared with the Sangiovese of the Chianti Classico region. The wonderfully strong Sangiovese is ideal for a convivial evening. It is rich and elegant, full and velvety. In addition, spicy aromas such as chocolate are often characteristic of this wine. This Sangiovese is a lively red wine that promises joie de vivre. COLOR Intense ruby red with garnet reflections. ODOR Broad, intense and persistent bouquet with fruity aromas paired with a subtle scent of violets. TASTE About cherries and blackberries, to plum notes. With age, more spicy aromas such as leather and truffle can mature. RECOMMENDED TO The Petali di Viola Sangiovese is an excellent accompaniment to spicy and hearty game dishes such as roast wild boar, venison goulash or breast of goose. But it also makes a brilliant impression with vegetarian dishes such as vegetable lasagne or risotto. PARTICULARITIES The carefully selected grapes are left on the skins for 15 days. A part of this Sangiovese wine experiences a special development of its aroma six to eight months in French oak barrels. Finally, it finds its perfection in the bottle for four to five months.
