Denis and Eric, partners for 25 years, share their passion and expertise to create a range of Muscadet with strong characters.
Vines have been omnipresent on the banks of the Loire since Roman times. At La Foliette, the oldest documents we have consulted date from 1635 and they attest to the exchange of plots of white grape vines, which clearly demonstrates the antiquity of vine cultivation on our Estate.
Here is a timeline of the history of Domaine de la Foliette:
1926: Joseph Brosseau settles at La Foliette. The property then consisted of a bourgeois house and a 14 hectare vineyard grouped around the Château.
1928: Joseph Brosseau creates the “Domaine de la Foliette”, at the same time the controlled designation of origin “Muscadet Sèvre et Maine” is born.
1988: Denis Brosseau, Joseph’s grandson, moves into the family farm.
1996: Eric Vincent joins La Foliette and takes charge of the vineyard, while Denis takes care of the cellar.
2000: First Terra Vitis certification
2019: First year of organic conversion
2021: The estate has expanded and now covers 40 hectares across three communes: La Haye-Fouassière, Haute-Goulaine, and Vertou, ideally positioned in the Muscadet region.
