History of the Domain

It is in Notre Dame d'Allençon, in Anjou, located in the heart of the Loire Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, 20 kilometers south-west of Angers, that the Domaine de TERREBRUNE is located, instead said La Motte. 5 kilometers from the village of Brissac Quincé, well known for its historic castle, the highest in France and one of the most original due to its mixture of architectural periods.

As well known for its sweetness as for its vineyards, Anjou offers the most diversified palette of the Loire Valley, in colors and flavors: dry or tender rosés, supple or full-bodied reds, dry or syrupy whites and of course fine bubbles. .

The soils present on the estate are: on Notre Dame d'Allençon and Vauchrétien: clay-gravel and on Thouarcé and Bonnezeaux: clay-schist. The clay-gravelly soils are gravel which makes it difficult for the grape varieties to take root, roots about 15 meters deep, and which subsequently gives a slightly spicy side to the wines. The clay-schist soils give an incredible finesse to the wines.

Using six different and well-established grape varieties in Anjou: Chenin, Chardonnay, Grolleau, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Gamay. These grape varieties perfectly expressing their typicity, they make it possible to produce only AOC (quality reference) distributed in color: rose d'Anjou, rose de Loire, cabernet d'Anjou, crémant de Loire rose des blancs, dry white Anjou, coteaux du layon, hillsides of the aubance, bonnezeaux, crémant de Loire, reds, Anjou red, Anjou villages, Anjou villages Brissac.

Our production on a 55 Ha vineyard represents around 3,000 Hl or 400,000 bottles (65% rosé, 15% red and 20% white). Vinified at the Domaine, almost 90% of it is marketed in bottles, and therefore 10% in 10-litre cubis, by ourselves.

We like to introduce our wines to our network and our customers directly at the estate, do not hesitate to visit us to discover the range.
