  • Since 1868
The Domaine des Tourelles was founded in 1868 by the French François-Eugène Brun and is one of the oldest wineries in Lebanon and the Levant. The winery is located in the Bekaa plain and is built with its stone walls and wooden ceilings based on traditional Lebanese architecture.

Its vineyards are around 1050 meters above sea level, making them among the highest in the northern hemisphere. The dry climate in the region and around 240 days of sunshine per year are very detrimental to the development of diseases such as fungal infestation, which means that the grapes can ripen organically and almost without the use of pesticides.

Today the winery pursues a purely ecological approach. For example, only local natural yeasts are used for fermentation. While white and rosé wines mature in stainless steel barrels, cement tanks are used to ferment red wines. These offer the best conditions for a natural, organic production process that preserves the authentic taste of the Lebanese terroir.

The winery focuses on the uniqueness of the terroir of this region in the foreground: the dry iron, gravel and calcareous soils as well as the melt water of the surrounding mountains as an indispensable source of water.

The prestigious estate of the Domaine des Tourelles is one of the most beautiful boutique wineries in the Middle East and has been dubbed the “most seductive winery in Lebanon” by the Financial Times.
