Domaine Espérou is located in the heart of the Corbières on the Boutenac terroir. This terroir is facing due south, backed by low stony hills, where the majority of old Carignans on the estate give birth to a wine with a ruby color and aromas of red fruits.
It is a family business that has been perpetuated for 5 generations. Cécile and Eddy Bonnafous have taken over this estate while retaining the authentic and traditional character of this place.
The vines are exposed south-southwest on the edge of scrubland and have their roots in clay-limestone soil. The vineyard is made up of different grape varieties: syrah, grenache, mourvèdre, marselan but above all the grape variety dear to Cru Boutenac: carignan. Ours are over 80 years old.
The harvest, faithful to tradition, is exclusively manual.
